Well Loved

This body is well-loved

It doesn’t look like it once did
It doesn’t feel like it once did

My belly is softer, rounder
My hips are fuller
My boobs are voluptuous or depleted depending on the baby’s nursing
There are new stretch marks covering my tummy
My husband calls them watermelon stripes.

New bags under my eyes
and crinkles too

These are the things that come with a body that is well-loved

It is beautiful
It is home to her little boy, her deepest love
It is his comfort
His safe space

It is worn and well-loved
Her greatest gift.
